The City of University Park operates under the Council-Manager form of government. Council-Manager governments function with the City Manager appointed by the Council.
Communications & Marketing
The Communications and Marketing team strives to provide timely information to the community and the news media concerning City services, policies, major projects, and community events.
The Community Development Department's primary responsibilities are the administration of building codes and zoning ordinances, and to help ensure the safety and welfare of the general public through proper enforcement of these regulations.
The City of University Park's Finance Department manages the City's financial assets, cash flows, and fiscal operations.
The University Park Fire Department exists to provide innovative, effective and efficient fire and life safety solutions that meet the needs and expectations of the community we serve.
It is the mission of the Human Resources Department to provide quality customer service to the employees, residents, and customers of the City of University Park.
The mission of the City of University Park Municipal Court is to provide fair and accessible justice services that protect the rights of individuals, preserve community welfare, and inspire public trust and confidence in the judicial system.
Parks & Recreation
The City's Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for maintaining and developing eight major parks to serve a wide variety of recreational and leisure needs for residents both today and in the future. The Department is committed to providing and maintaining the parklands in a quality cost-effective manner.
The University Park Police Department is focused on upholding the Constitution of the United States by understanding our duty to carry out our Social Contract with all People by providing Fair Access, Public Trust, Safety and Security, and Teamwork and Objectivity to those we serve with honor.
The University Park Public Library provides a wide variety of services for the community from infants to senior citizens. Library staff is committed to customer service and to meeting the educational and leisure-time needs of our patrons.
The Public Works Department’s mission is to manage and maintain the following services and facilities that are vital to the community’s health, safety, and welfare.
The Purchasing Department strives to ensure that responsible vendors have fair and competitive access to the City's business while complying with state and local purchasing statutes. Most importantly, we work to obtain the best value for goods and services with our residents' tax dollars.
Sanitation / Recycling
The Sanitation Division is responsible for the collection and disposal of all municipal solid waste material within the City. Our staff collects residential and commercial solid waste, also known as garbage. We also separately collect recyclable materials and compostable yard waste.
The City operates the water distribution and wastewater (sanitary sewer) collection systems within University Park. The City purchases treated water from the Dallas County/Park Cities Municipal Utilities District (MUD), and it contracts with the City of Dallas Water Utilities for wastewater treatment.
