Payments

The City of University Park Municipal Court accepts cash, personal checks, money orders, cashier's checks and credit cards as form of payment. Depending on the nature of your case, fines may be paid by mail, online or in person.

Online payments can be made using MasterCard or Visa. We do not accept American Express.

Please do not mail in cash. When mailing personal checks, money orders or cashier's checks, be sure to include your name and case numbers with the checks for proper credit. Payments made by mail cannot be accepted without a plea from the defendant. The Plea Form (PDF) should be mailed along with the payment.

Payment Plan

If ordered to pay a fine and cost, and you cannot pay, notify the court immediately. You may be able to arrange a payment plan but you must get permission from the court. A $15 state-mandated administrative fee will be assessed if the extension exceeds 30 days from the date you were found guilty.

Jail Credit

If you have been incarcerated, you may request credit for time served. To request credit for time served, you must complete the form and provide proof of incarceration from a jail or prison that includes the dates you were incarcerated. If you have not already entered a plea of guilty or nolo contendere for the case(s) you are requesting jail credit for, you will be required to do so.

Failure to Appear & Warrants

Defendants who fail to handle their fines or appear in court on or before the designated date are subject to a fine amount increase and potential arrest. An additional $50 will be added if a citation moves to warrant status. For more information on this topic, visit our Warrant Information page.

Your warrant may be canceled if you plead "no contest" or "guilty" to the warrant charge and pay the fine. Capias Pro Fine (capias warrants) must be paid in full.

If you want to plead Not Guilty or resolve your charge after an arrest warrant has been issued, please contact the Municipal Court.
