Municipal Court

The Municipal Court is responsible for the adjudication of Class C misdemeanors and violations of state laws and city ordinances that are punishable by fine only. The court handles a variety of duties, including:

  • Appeals
  • Pre-trial hearings
  • Jury and bench trials
  • Collecting fines and court costs
  • Issuing warrants of arrest

The University Park Municipal Court is a court of non-record.

The mission of the City of University Park Municipal Court is to provide fair and accessible justice services that protect the rights of individuals, preserve community welfare, and inspire public trust and confidence in the judicial system.

The Court is committed to providing those we serve with courteous, prompt and efficient customer service, consistent with principles of due process and equality under the law.

The judges and employees of the Court shall strive for excellence and, through their dedication and professionalism, enforce the rules and laws of the United States and the State of Texas as well as the ordinances of the City of University Park.
